The soreness in his chest is from the muscles in between his ribs from the coughing. That will take just a few days to get better. Kids heal so much faster.
As to the itch I wouldn’t think so since prednisone is an anti inflammatory. I’d check with his doctor about that. It’s a reaction to something.
My heart goes out to you, that’s one of the scariest things when your kid can’t breathe.
God bless you and keep your family healthy.
that is normal for chest soreness and to have the tightness. if it continues for more than say a week have him seen by his dr. the prednisone is good it is used to open the air ways it is a steroid. try using benadryl for the itching and if that isn’t helping have him seen by his dr.
Yes definately a reaction to prednisone, i had the same issue when i was young, on my bum too !! and its a massive dose given to start with. 8 tabs 2 days, 6 tabs 2 days, 2 for 2 days, and 1 for 2 days if i remember rightly. The itching got less as the dose came down.
I didn’t have the same symptoms when i was 13 0r 14.
The autism epidemic has opened up a world of knowledge. Some of these savvy doctors who are ridding autism via treating for pathogens and toxins are also ridding asthma. I know that magnesium sulphate (you can get it in creams for your skin as well as bath salts) is used. I can’t remember what else about it, but my point is this. Do some googling on this Internet and you just may find some more successful treatments; some that may even rid it.
