Over the counter medicines only numb your throat, it won’t stop the cough, especially since you have asthma. You cough to try to get rid of congestion build up in the lungs. try home remedies. Use and humidifier in your room while you sleep. You can get the one that has a place for Vic ks liquid to go. It may help. I once had a cough that lasted a month, good luck.

Try this out: I haven’t yet, but I just read about it. Rub Vicks VapoRub on the soles of your feet. Supposedly it will stop your coughing.

Raise higher your pillow to sleep because there may be some phlegm flowing to your throat that make you cough. or else if you can sleep in half rest n half sit position, you will be able to catch some sleep. If you still having difficulties, please go and see your doctor for help. Hope you get well soon!
