Turmeric is very popular amongst naturalistic healers for asthma and it is known for it’s anti-inflammatory effects but I would be wary of so called natural cures or therapies. They are unproven in clinical trials and usually only have anecdotal support. Prescribed medicine offers the only proven effective way to reduce airway inflammation. Beyond that and from my own personal research the most exciting therapy if your asthma is severe and poorly controlled which can offer profound improvement if not complete remission is Helminthic therapy which has had an astounding success rate in other auto-immune conditions. It works by deliberate infection with hookworm larvae which under controlled doses are innocuous and usually free of any side effects. A clinical trial by Dr. David Pritchard in asthma has been completed and results are due to be published shortly.
There are many herbs that are very effective at reversing lung deficiencies, asthma, and COPD such as elecampaine and codonopsis. Asthma and COPD can have several patterns according to Chinese medicine, so you can have a more specific approach to treatment; this makes for much better outcomes. Here is an article explaining how TCM addresses lung conditions:
