That happens to everyone, even with people without asthma, and i too get rib cramps and my through burns. Your breathing should be normal because everyone cant breathe when they are tired and all. And if you think you have asthma, you would use your friends inhaler even more. To me everything is normal, but if you are concerned, go to a doctor and get a check up.
First, you should see a doctor about this if you haven’t already. They are the only ones who can diagnose you properly.
Second, you shouldn’t use an inhaler that isn’t prescribed for you because asthma medicine can cause heart attacks if misused. (Look up the supermodel who died in the ’90’s from primeatine mist. It was either Nikki Taylor or her sister.)
Third, your symptoms don’t really sound like asthma. You would feel like you couldn’t breath, your lungs would make a wheezing noise and the pain would be in your lungs, not your throat or ribs. Try breathing steadily as you run. In and out in a rhythm.
But see a doctor first to confirm this. There may be something else that only a real doctor would know.
Do you live in a dry climate? Could be you’re mouth breathing, drying out your throat. Your nasal passages humidify the air you breathe. Is your coach teaching you how to breathe when running? In with the nose, out through the mouth. Could just be you’ve got some more work to do to get into shape – but working too hard at it right now. Pace yourself to avoid muscle injury. Don’t forget your warm ups, very important.

If you go to your doctor they can test you. Then at least your mind will be at ease.
