Hello, well in this situation. I would go into the office and make it obvious that you are really sick. Speak to him and explain your situation, let him know that the job is very important to you.I think he’ll understand..especially if you are a great worker.

But if you can manage it, try to stay at work for a few hours before you tell him you’re feeling too ill to continue the day. Your boss will understand.

First of all, it shows your boss that you care about your job, and second it shows him that you’re not trying to get away with skipping work for the day.

Don’t call! Calling on the phone, after already missing work 5 days in the past 6 months will give your boss the wrong impression, and it might land you on that “phaze-out” list.

Go with calling him on his cell phone. if you go to the job to say you are sick, he’s going to look at you and assume since you drove up there, you should be able to work. Also, if you end up going to the doctor, i know it ***** because your an adult, but get a note from the doctor depending however long he keeps you out and give a copy to your boss. been there before. calling is the best thing to do and if you can get a note give him a copy. feel better

Make an appt.with your boss, have your Dr. fax a copy of your health status directly to your employer, att.(his name), or just bring it in with you. Explain that you want your job, you are sincerely ill and allowances need to be made but that you will keep up with your work.
His main concerns are productivity.
If possible, can you do any of your duties from home?
Covering your **** with a Dr.s note will ensure that will not use that to get rid of you, because the E.E.O.C. would be all over him, possibly with fines and a lawsuit.
Just do it in person, lay it all out, assure him that you want your job and want to keep up with your duties. Do not just dump it on him, he will be angry and want you out of there, replacing you with someone reliable. Good luck.

If you are well enough to go in and tell him you are sick you are well enough to work. I say you **** it up, go to work and while at work tell him about how your illness is chronic and it can be difficult sometimes. He will either send you home and you get your day off or he will at least know that your illness is chronic and he won’t be hurt if you call in sick again.

First, you should definitely approach this subject in person. Second, you could possibly get a doctor’s note stating that you have a chronic condition. I realize that might not be possible for today, but it would be a good idea. As an opinion, I wish bosses would be more understanding about things like this. Good luck…

Have you discussed your illness with them or are you keeping it a secret? This is a tough one. I wouldn’t go into to work. I would just call him. But, you need to get a plan of action together about discussing your illness with him. Let me think on this one….
