You should probably take him back to the doctor immediately. It could be an asthma attack or it could be that he is developing something worse…like maybe pneumonia.

that’s a mild attack. Normally an asthma attack, there is a blockage in the lung pipes. it makes it hard to breath and the baby will be huffing and puffing and trying hard to breathe. If this happens, and it looks pretty severe, go into the bathroom with him and turn on the shower completely hot. though don’t get in the shower, just sit on floor next to the shower and support the babies head near the shower (though not so he’s wet) the steam will help open his lungs. Also, pounding on his back would help. Good luck, and I know what it’s like to be your little boy!

Ow poor little thing… It’s really tough when you know he can’t tell you how he is feeling. I have asthma, but I am a lot older, and I developed it when I was older, but strangly enough my brother was born with asthma, it was quite bad, but he grew out of it, that does happen, hopefully that will happen to your son!

Most asthma attacks are made worse because people panic, when you think you can’t breathe, and you are alone it just makes things worse, and normally using an inhaler and sitting comfortably will let it pass.. How long it lasts really depends on how severe the attack is.. It does really wear you out though, so if he is struggling it prob is using a lot of his energy, I am sure that as long as he has the correct medication and you monitor him he will be fine, and it’s just a case of working out what might trigger it off and making a few changes… You will be absolutely fine once you start to understand it more and you will feel much more confident at reading the signs..

He sounds adorable and if he is smiling at you he must feel safe and loved..regardless of how his body is feeling, he just needs to know that you are there, I am sure that calms him.

    Good Luck x
